Vivo Phys & VoovoTwo coursesExercise science study app

Master exercise physiology
and get ready for ACSM

My lectures as two courses in the Voovo app: lessons, practice questions and a study plan to your exam date. For Exercise Physiology and for Exercise Testing and Prescription.

Go beyond the videos

More than the videos

My videos explain each idea. In the app you practice it with questions, see what you still don't know, and follow a plan until the exam.

The Exercise Physiology course overview on a laptop and a sorting exercise on a phone
  • On your phone and laptop

Practice on your phone, review on your laptop. Your progress is the same on both.

  • Built from my lectures

Exercise Physiology comes from my 68 physiology lectures, Testing and Prescription from my 13 lectures on assessment and prescription.

  • Apply what you watched

Many questions ask you to use an idea, not just define it, and every answer is explained.

  • See where you stand

Each unit shows what you know and what still needs work, so you know where to spend your time.

How it works

How the course works

Every unit runs the same way: the lecture first, then questions on it, then reviews spread out until your exam.

01Watch

Learn it from my lectures

Start with my lectures and explanations in the app. The course is built from them, unit by unit, so the questions use the same terms I do.

  • My lectures
  • Unit by unit

02Practice

Answer questions on it

Multiple choice, fill in the blank, ordering, matching and sorting. Many give you a case to work through, like which fuel you mostly burn walking at 30% of VO2max, and every answer is explained.

  • Apply the idea
  • Answers explained
A sorting exercise: is fat or carbohydrate the main fuel?
03Repeat

Review before you forget

What you get wrong comes up again within a few days. What you know comes up later, so the first units are still fresh for your final.

04Ask

Ask when you're stuck

About me

Detail without losing the big picture

Teaching requires attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture. In exercise science and physiology, it requires first-hand experience in research, clinical, and subject-specific circumstances to bring topics to life.

I'm a cardiovascular and exercise physiologist, and I have taught at Montclair State University since 2015. I started Vivo Phys in 2016 to share academic and research-related information with my research colleagues, students, and the general public.

For my most information-dense undergraduate courses, I provide full video lectures for students to cover independently. This gives students control of when they watch the lectures. They also have the ability to pause, rewind, rewatch, and change the video playback speed.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Which course is mine?

Exercise Physiology if your course is on how the body responds to exercise, from muscle and the heart to metabolism. Exercise Testing and Prescription if it is on fitness testing and writing exercise programs. Taking both? Start with Exercise Physiology.

Is this the same as your YouTube videos?

Everything I explain in my lecture videos is in the courses. On top of that you get questions on every unit, in the course's order, and a plan to your exam date.

Who writes the questions?

Voovo's team writes them from my lectures. Experts review the questions before they go into a course.

Will it match my university's course?

It follows my lectures, not one university's syllabus. Check the units above against your syllabus and start with the one your class is on.

When do the courses open, and what do they cost?

You'll get an email the day the course you signed up for opens, with your 10% off. The price is set when it opens.

Can I use it on my laptop?

Yes. The app runs on your phone and on the web, with the same progress on both.
